Summary
Gain supervisory skills for a broad range of food and beverage outlets along with real-world experience at events and functions with the New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Level 4).
UCOL's New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Restaurant Service Strand) will teach you how to interact with colleagues and customers so you can provide a memorable, high-quality dining experience.
You will attain the City and Guilds Food Safety Unit 203, and get first-hand experience and the knowledge to monitor and maintain customer service, and policies and procedures for a broad range of hospitality environments.
Note to Levin students: You can study this course at Horowhenua Learning Centre in Levin.

Accreditation
The programme is approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority under the provisions of the Education Act 1989, and Universal College of Learning (UCOL) Trading as Universal College of Learning (UCOL) is accredited to teach it.
Entry criteria
Applicants should have completed the New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Level 3) with strands in Café Services and Functions Services, or an equivalent Level 3 qualification in hospitality, or have the equivalent industry skills and knowledge.
International student applicants whose first language is not English must have an IELTS General or Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5 (or equivalent). IELTS scores used must be taken from a single IELTS Test Report Form (ie combining scores from more than one test is not permissible).
Under 20 years of age
For international applicants under 20 years of age who do not hold NCEA, International Academic Qualifications Entry Criteria apply.
