The New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing will prepare you with the skills and knowledge to deliver nursing care across the human life-span in a variety of health care settings as a qualified registered enrolled nurse.
This enrolled nursing programme is taught by UCOL’s highly experienced, passionate lecturers and will equip you with theoretical knowledge and practical experience needed for a successful career in the health care industry.
Career & Study Outcomes
Successful graduates of UCOL's New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing will be able to apply to become an enrolled nurse, providing nursing care under the direction and delegation of a registered nurse or other registered health practitioner in a range of settings, including acute care, rehabilitation, and mental health in the community and/or in hospitals.
Graduates may also wish to undertake further study at a higher level, including UCOL's Bachelor of Nursing degree.

The Nurse Education Team have strong links with industry and students gain a wide range of clinical experience in Mental Health, Medical/Surgical, Aged Care and Primary Health environments across the three years of study.
The programme is approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority under the provisions of the Education Act 1989, and Universal College of Learning (UCOL) Trading as Universal College of Learning (UCOL) is accredited to teach it.
International students will be assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure they meet New Zealand University Entrance requirements. In addition, in accordance with NCNZ (2007a) and the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act [HPCA] (2003) requirements, international students whose first language is not English, or who come from a country where the general medium of instruction is not English, will be required to provide documentary evidence of proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
The minimum entry requirement for international students is IELTS Academic score of 6.5 in all bands (or equivalent including TOEFL). UCOL is a TOEFL iBT testing centre. IELTS scores used must be taken from a single IELTS Test Report Form (ie combining scores from more than one test is not permissible).

For international applicants under 20 years of age who do not hold NCEA, International Academic Qualifications Entry Criteria apply.
