    What you will learn

    • Commercial Law: If a sound understanding of the key elements of the nature and sources of New Zealand law and the core elements of the New Zealand legal system are crucial in your role then this course will provide you with the knowledge to perform. You will also learn the basic principles of the law of contract, the basic principles of property law and the relevant provisions of the Sale of Goods Act.

    To gain a New Zealand Diploma in Business (​Leadership and Management) (Level 5) you are required to complete 8 courses.

    Fast Track Option (18 months)

    New Zealand Diploma in Business (with strand in Leadership and Management) (Level 5) & New Zealand Diploma in Business (with strand in Leadership and Management) (Level 6) studied together, these qualifications equip you with highly transferable skills across a range of subject areas. They provide a career pathway into banking, finance, management, marketing, human resources, employment relations, tourism and accounting.

    Entry criteria

    Applicants must have:

    • A minimum of 14 numeracy credits at level 1 or higher in Mathematics or Pangarau on the Directory of Assessment Standards; and
    • Fifty credits at level 2 or above with at least 12 credits in each of three subjects including a minimum of 8 literacy credits at level 2 or higher in English or Te Reo 毛利; of which 4 credits must be in reading and 4 credits must be in writing; and
    • The literacy credits will be selected from a schedule of approved achievement standards and unit standards found on the NZQA website at Literacy requirements for University Entrance.
    • or equivalent to the above, or New Zealand University Entrance.

    English requirements

    For Normal Track:

    • Academic IELTS score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5
    • TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT) score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE)
    • TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) score of 46 (with a writing score of 20)
    • FCE or FCE for schools with a score of 162. No less than 154 in each skill
    • NZCEL Level 4 with the Academic endorsement
    • PToE (Academic) score of 42
    • City & Guilds IESOL - B2 Communicator with a score of 42

    For Fast Track:

    • Academic IELTS score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5
    • TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT) score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE)
    • TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) score of 60 (with a writing score of 20)
    • FCE, or FCE for schools, or CAE, or CPE with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill
    • NZCEL Level 4 with the Academic endorsement
    • PToE (Academic) score of 50
    • City & Guilds IESOL - B2 Communicator with a score of 66
    • Complete two years study at a New Zealand secondary school and achieve either NCEA Level 3 or New Zealand University Entrance or both
