Websites are an increasingly important part of a business's interaction with their customers.
Through this online programme you can learn skills in front-end web design, to enhance the visual communication of a business, from anywhere you have an internet connection.
This programme is designed to help you develop practical skills as well as a theoretical understanding of a range of digital media and design processes through the exploration of front-end website design.
You will be encouraged to explore a wide range of digital design approaches for researching, developing, documenting, communicating and contextualising your ideas through set project briefs.

NMIT Creative Industry Training Schemes
This front-end web design programme is part of our suite of online Training Schemes.
These programmes are designed to be flexible for you to study around your current work commitments, or to be taken as electives by students on NMIT's Bachelor and Diploma programmes.
As a student on this programme you will study alongside other students from anywhere in New Zealand, from a multitude of backgrounds. Develop a relationship with your fellow students and tutor through the TANZ eCampus online learning platform.
Structure and timetable
You are required to complete four to six hours per week, or 110 hours total, of self-directed study over the 18 weeks of the programme.

All admissions to the Training Scheme Front-end Web Design are subject to the approval of the Manager, Creative Industries or delegate.
Applicants under the age of 20
A minimum of 42 credits at Level 3 or higher on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF), including at least 14 credits at NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent) in each of two subjects, of which at least one relates to English; and at least one is from the subject list below; with a further 14 credits at Level 3 or higher taken from no more than two additional domains on the NQF.

Successful completion of a recognised art/media foundation programme or equivalent, for example the Certificate in Arts and Media.
Applicants aged 20 years or above
No academic qualifications are required.
English language requirements:
All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at which they enter the Training Scheme. Those students whose first language is not English will have:
An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall Academic Band score of at least 6 (with at least 5.5 in each component), issued within the last two years;
An equivalent qualification.
TOEFL Paper based test (pBT) - Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE)
TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) - Score of 46 (with a writing score of 20)
