The region also has a wide variety of tourism businesses including boutique craft brewers, wine, local seafood, a strong creative arts community as well as hosting many annual events and conferences. On this programme you will take part in onsite visits to local tourism businesses to build your network in the industry and to learn what the industry needs from its staff.
Become work-ready for industry
You will gain skills in customer service, guiding and teamwork.
You will also gain knowledge of the major New Zealand tourism destinations, the relevant legislation to tourism and travel workplaces, and the structure and operations of New Zealand's tourism industry so you can successfully find work in this exciting field.
This programme can lead directly into the Level 4 programme so you can complete the two qualifications in one year of full time study.
