If you are looking to work in Horticulture, this is the programme for you.
You will learn about soils and how best to manage them to improve your growing, and how to identify and understand pests and diseases and their management.
The Nelson programme is taught at the Richmond campus where this is an onsite garden, propagation house and amenity plantings. The Marlborough programme is taught on the Budge Street campus where these is a shade house and a propagation house.
With the knowledge you learn on this programme, you can put into practice if you are a small block owner, get work in the horticulture industry or go on to study at level 4.
Career opportunities and pathways
This qualification can lead onto Level 4 study in horticulture or employment in a range of horticultural enterprises.
It is suitable for small block owners and also for learners wishing to gain knowledge in horticultural science in a range of general horticulture growing systems and practices for their own businesses.

IELTS test: General or Academic score of 5 with no band score lower than 5
TOEFL Paper based test (pBT): Score of 500 (with an essay score of 4 TWE)
TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT): Score of 35 (with a writing score of 20)
University of Cambridge English Examinations: FCE or FCE for schools with a score of 154.
NZCEL : No less than 154 in each skill
Pearson Test Of English (Academic): Level 3 with an endorsement of either General, Workplace, or Academic PToE (Academic) score of 36
City and Guilds IESOL: B1 Achiever with a score of 43
