This programme will equip graduates with the skills to enhance the nutritional health of individuals and communities.
In our Human Nutrition Graduate Diploma you will learn about biological chemistry - the study of how chemicals work within the human body.
You will look at micro and macro nutrients, including carbohydrates, protein and fats that are required by the human body to produce physiological function.
During your studies you will also learn about population nutrition and disease. You will have significant study time for applied research, research projects and work placements.
To complete this Degree you are required to complete a minimum total of 120 credits. To be a full time student you need to maintain a workload of 120 credits per year. We recommend you talk with us to ensure you choose electives to benefit your future career.

The Graduate Diplomas are designed to extend the current knowledge or add new knowledge for undergraduate students from a range of science and health related disciplines.
On completion of this programme graduates could progress to a variety of roles related to human nutrition. For example, working for a professional sporting franchise, sports national body, clubs (or a collection of clubs) as a consultant, in health, be self-employed, a researcher, or teaching.
Graduates could study postgraduate level in human nutrition though to PhD level. Graduates could specialise in areas such as sports nutrition.
A Bachelor of Applied or Health Science or equivalent in any field excluding Human Nutrition or equivalent, including a minimum of 15 credits in Chemistry.
If your degree was completed more than five years ago you must also have current relevant work experience.
English language requirement:
IELTS 6.5 Academic (no lower than 6.0 reading/writing, 7.0 listening/speaking); TOEFL Internet based test (iBT) Score of Score of 60 or higher (with a writing score of 18); TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT) score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE); University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations - FCE or FCE for schools or CAE or CPE with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill; NZ Certificate in English Language (NZCEL) - Level 4 with the Academic endorsement; Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PToE (Academic) score of 50; City and Guilds IESOL: B2 Communicator with a score of 66.
