The Certificate in Communication Studies is designed as a foundation to the Bachelor of Communication Studies. You need to have a B grade average to staircase to the Bachelor of Communication Studies.
This certificate can also serve as a pathway into the Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, Bachelor of 毛利 Development and other AUT programmes.
Completion of Year 12
NCEA: 48 level 2 credits or higher, plus 8 credits at level 1 in at least one subject from Classical Studies, Drama, English, Geography, Health Education, History, History of Art, Media Studies, Social Studies
CIE: 60 points on the UCAS Tariff
English Language requirements:
IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall with all bands 5.5 or higher; or equivalent; TOEFL iBT score of 70; Computer-based: Total score of 133 with minimum essay writing of 3.5; Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS) with C/C+ grade; GIE with C+ grade; CAE minimum overall score of 162; PTE minimum overall score of 42.
