The Master of Marketing (MMktg) is designed for those who have completed a bachelor's degree in any field of study and wish to obtain a postgraduate qualification in marketing.
Marketing is an important part of strategic business decision making and this programme will equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills of marketing to help in the decision making process.
It offers an exciting and rewarding opportunity to study marketing for someone who already has a degree. It will enhance career opportunities and employment prospects.
The papers in the Master of Marketing cover core professional knowledge and skills in marketing, associated business knowledge and skills and an applied research project. All papers are 15 points apart from the research project which is 45 points.
A graduate of the Master of Marketing will be able to:
a. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of professional practices in marketing. (Knowledge/Understanding)
b. Use reflection at an advanced level to deepen knowledge of self, others and relevant professional practice. (Personal/Intellectual Autonomy)
c. Consider at an advanced level the relevant social, ethical, environmental and sustainability dimensions of decisions in business contexts. (Ethical/Professional Dispositions)
d. Use advanced conceptual and critical thinking, analysis, reasoning, integration and judgment. (Inquiry/Research/Creativity)
e. Engage with business in the application of appropriate marketing practices, and will have experience of planning, executing and reporting on an industry based project. (Skills/Application)
f. Communicate effectively and be able to produce high quality business documents and business presentations. (Communication).
Applicants to the Master of Marketing are expected to have:
Admission to the Master of Marketing is subject to the approval of the Dean (or representative).
English Language requirements:
Minimum IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 overall with all bands 6.0 or higher; TOEFL iBT score of 90; Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS) with A grade; GIE with B+ grade; CAE minimum overall score of 176; PTE minimum overall score of 58.
