The prestigious Master of Arts (Spanish) will advance your skills of analysis and expression in Spanish.
WHAT IS IT LIKE?
A Master of Arts (Spanish) will give you knowledge of Spanish language and the culture of countries where Spanish is widely spoken. It incorporates current methodological approaches to enhance your analytical tools to think critically about a range of subject areas in Hispanic studies, such as literature, translation and cultural studies.
Undertake supervised research
A key focus of the Master of Arts (Spanish) is supervised research in Hispanic literary and cultural studies. This is your opportunity to express your intellectual independence through a thesis on a topic that has captured your attention throughout your studies. You’ll continue to develop your language skills in Spanish and advance your ability to develop critical arguments in Spanish. Master of Arts (Spanish) structure
Courses to the value of 180 credits consisting of 90 credits of taught courses and a 90 credit thesis as outlined below.
At least a B+ grade average is required in the first 60 credits of courses completed in Part One for progression to Part Two - Research Pathway.
Students who successfully complete Part One but do not meet the minimum grade average for progression will exit with a Postgraduate Certificate in Arts.
This qualification may be awarded with Distinction or Merit.
