A postgraduate qualification in a shorter space of time
This postgraduate diploma can be completed in a year full-time.
What is it Like?
The Postgraduate Diploma in Business (PGDipBus) provides you with an advanced education in specialist business areas. It consists of taught courses, though you may include a project in an area of interest. It is suited to those who have a degree (not necessarily in business) and would like to study business at a postgraduate level.
If you undertake this postgraduate diploma, you may design an academic programme to meet your own needs and interests.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Business utilises Massey Business School’s world-leading expertise across a broad range of specializations including international business, human resources, enterprise development, finance and marketing. You will be learning from experts from within these fields.
Why postgraduate study?
Postgraduate study is hard work but hugely rewarding and empowering. The workload of the Postgraduate Diploma in Business replicates the high-pressure environment of senior workplace roles and high-level research. Our experts are there to guide but if you have come from undergraduate study, you will find that postgraduate study demands more in-depth and independent study.
Not just more of the same
Postgraduate study is not just ‘more of the same’ undergraduate study. It takes you to a new level in knowledge and expertise.
If you complete the programme at a satisfactory level you may be able to proceed to the Master of Business Studies or the Master of Management. If so, credits you have gained through this postgraduate diploma may be credited to the master’s programme, but this will depend on the specific choice of courses.
Sought after by employers
International trends are for employers to reward postgraduate study well, especially in larger enterprises. The skills you learn are increasingly recognized as setting you apart from other potential employees.
This course is also offered in the School of Economics and Finance.
Applicants for the PGDipBus must meet the University admission requirements as specified, and will have been awarded or qualified for a Bachelor’s degree having achieved a minimum B- grade average in the highest level courses. All students must gain admission as being eligible to proceed into this programme.
